Proposal to Launch Joint Projects for Agricultural and Tourism Development
According to the Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Ali‑Mohammad Shariati‑Moghaddam, Head of the Commission for Knowledge‑Based Enterprises, Digital Economy, and Artificial Intelligence, stressed the importance of aligning development projects with the province’s real economic and agricultural conditions.
He noted that in recent years, projects and performance indicators must be assessed with a broader and more comprehensive outlook, rather than relying solely on titles or formal classifications. “Simply naming or categorizing projects is not enough,” he said; “they must be evaluated on their practical outcomes.”
Shariati‑Moghaddam pointed out the challenges experienced in implementing past agricultural development schemes, emphasizing that a thorough assessment of previous projects’ strengths and weaknesses is essential.
“Some projects executed in cooperation with related ministries,” he explained, “did not achieve expected results due to operational shortcomings and structural inefficiencies.”
Highlighting the need to analyze these experiences carefully, he added that identifying the causes of past failures can help guide decision‑making for future initiatives and prevent repeating earlier mistakes.
He underscored that future efforts should be focused on economically feasible and sustainable projects with clear effectiveness and continuity.
Furthermore, Shariati‑Moghaddam proposed defining and implementing innovative joint projects in the fields of agriculture and tourism that take advantage of the province’s relative strengths and potential.
These initiatives, he explained, should integrate modern technologies, digital economy approaches, and advanced regional and international tourism strategies, particularly those linked to Middle Eastern market capacities.
He concluded by emphasizing the necessity of selecting purposeful and efficient projects capable of generating the highest economic and social returns, while ensuring a balanced benefit among the government, national interests, and private sector investors.
He expressed optimism that with a realistic and forward‑looking approach, Mashhad’s available resources can support the implementation of impactful and sustainable projects in agriculture, digital economy, and tourism.
