Allocation of 1,000 Hectares for the Expansion of Iran’s Food Industry

According to the personal information platform of Ali Shariati‑Moghaddam, quoting AgroFoodNews—the food and agriculture industry news agency—several leading national food brands are considering investing in Khorasan Razavi Province as part of a broader strategy to expand Iran’s food-processing sector.

In an interview on the sidelines of a meeting of top food‑industry executives, known as Ten‑Top, Shariati‑Moghaddam explained that one of the key topics discussed was the integration of saffron into large‑scale food production, including its potential use in beverages and soft drinks. Companies such as Khoshgovar (Coca‑Cola Bottler of Iran) expressed interest, and it was agreed that R&D teams will examine this opportunity more closely.

He noted that, given saffron’s medicinal properties and the rising national production levels, the food‑processing industry should place far greater emphasis on developing value‑added and fortified products derived from saffron.

The founder of the Novin Saffron Group added that the meeting also addressed the expansion of industrial activity in Khorasan’s industrial towns, including the proposal to designate a 1,000‑hectare industrial zone exclusively for high‑impact, leading food‑industry companies and for scaling up major projects across the province.

Shariati‑Moghaddam concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued intra‑industry collaboration among top food‑sector companies as well as cross‑sector cooperation with leading firms in other industries to create synergy and accelerate national development.

The gathering of national food‑industry leaders is held regularly, with participation from major brands such as Kalleh, Zarmacaron, Shirin Asal, Mihan, Yek‑o‑Yek, Delpazir, Naminow, Coca‑Cola, Novin Saffron, Sabah, Golha, Sabzi Iran, and others. These meetings are organized in cooperation with Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, founder of the Iranian Association of Food Science and Technology.

The latest session was hosted by the Novin Saffron Group at Shandiz Galleria.
