The Need for Transparency in Mining Investment Opportunities

According to the personal information platform of Ali Shariati‑Moghaddam, quoting the Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce, investment opportunities in the mining sector are often insufficiently transparent. Enhancing transparency in this area would pave the way for stronger economic development driven by the mining industry.
Regarding downstream value chains, it was emphasized that mineral processing should be located in specific regions of the country—particularly along the Persian Gulf coastline—due to the significant water requirements of mining industries. Ignoring water consumption in this sector could lead to long‑term structural challenges.
As the meeting continued, the third agenda item—reviewing the performance of the Social Responsibility Commission—was brought forward.
Mohsen Sherka, Chairman of the Social Responsibility Commission of the Mashhad Chamber of Commerce, stated that mutual respect, recognition of shared capacities, and a clear understanding of existing resources must be regarded as fundamental principles. He added that proactive engagement aimed at fostering cooperation and addressing social challenges should remain the core mission and source of impact for the Social Responsibility Commission.
